Fair-Weather Friends
Fair-Weather Friends.( Rysana)
In the sunlight, they bloom like flowers,
Fair-weather friends, with eating smiles.
Their words are honey, sweet and good,
But there is another design, below.
They come near you, with open palms,
When fortune smiles, and wealth unfolds arms.
They soak in glory, of your radiant light,
And breathe odes, in the long night.
But when the tempests of life, begin to brew,
And night falls, with troubles anew.
They vanish like smoke, into thin air,
Leaving you to suffer, the weight you bear.
Their love, is a passing thing,
A moment's pleasure, a lifetime's pang.
They're friends of fortune, not of spirit,
Their love is conditional, a work of art.
Oh, the pain of being used, and cast aside,
As an old shoe, that is no longer needed to breathe.
The recollections of smiles, and of tears persist,
But the wounds cut deep, through all the intervening years.
So be kind, to fair weather friends, who come and go,
For real friendship, is a treasure to know.
It's the one that stays, through all the test,
And weathers the storms, with a love that's best.
Mashallah So beautifully written 👏🏽
